In this teaching, Konko Daijin explains clearly and concisely the roles of Kami and man.  We should always remember that Kami is our Principle Parent of all people.  As the name implies, the Principle Parent's role in each person's life is the same as a parent's role in their children's lives.  Kami exists in order to protect all people, provide life and blessings to all, and answer the requests of those who pray.

Like a parent, Kami is constantly involved in our lives.  Kami will answer all our requests openly and freely without hesitation and without exception.  And like a child, we should ask anything and everything to Kami with complete and absolute faith.  It is our responsibility to trust in Kami, seek Kami's guidance, and pray wholeheartedly for all of our desires.  This is the way we will receive true divine favor.

We must realize and acknowledge this basic universal "parent-child" relationhip between Kami and man.  Then we must do our best to fulfill our roles as people and ask Kami for anything with firm belief that Kami will receive our requests and work with us to bestow the divine blessings.  Only through out sincere and constant faith will we be able to receive divine blessings.
